About the fear of overcoming rules and expectations set by society. A song about “German Angst.”
It’s about the choice between a conformed, suppressed life shaped by a bureaucratic mindset, and one that follows the inner call toward growth, values, and a livable vision.
Do we put on society’s mask by meeting the expectations placed upon us, submitting to the demands of “system-relevant” bureaucrats, or do we stay independent and make our own decisions that feel right and good?

This seems to be especially difficult in Germany. We’re so deeply shaped by the bureaucratic mindset that we convince ourselves we want it this way, or we’re afraid to resist and become outsiders. Even many self-employed people live from or for government institutions.
I’m grateful to have chosen as free a path as possible for myself.
